Authority: Saudi Arabia buys 661,000 tons of wheat in tender
DUBAI, July 6 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Food Security said on Monday that the kingdom had purchased 661,000 tonnes of wheat in a tender, completing "the awarding of the fourth batch of imported wheat for this year."
The authority stated that the quantities are scheduled to be received between September and October 2026.
The authority added that the tender was awarded to six companies whose bids were the lowest and met the specifications.
The supply originates from the European Union, North and South America, Australia, and the Black Sea.
The General Authority for Food Security ordered wheat in 11 shipments.
The authority said it had requested that the wheat be shipped to the ports of Jeddah, Jazan and Yanbu on the Red Sea.
The quantity is distributed across four shipments totaling 244,000 tons to Jeddah port, six shipments totaling 362,000 tons to Yanbu port, and one shipment of 55,000 tons to Jazan.
