"Fill outside RTH" Settings: What They Mean and How to Use Them
Fill outside RTH (RTH = Regular Trading Hours) is a key setting for conditional orders on eligible US stocks and ETFs. It determines when the system monitors market prices to check if your order’s trigger condition is met.
How the Setting Works
1. When "Fill outside RTH" is ON: The system will monitor your trigger condition during all available trading sessions:
- Overnight
- Pre-Market
- Regular Trading Hours (RTH)
- Post-Market
2. When "Fill outside RTH" is OFF: The system will only monitor your trigger condition during Regular Trading Hours (RTH), and triggers that occur during Overnight, Pre-Market, or Post-Market sessions will not activate your order.
Important Exception: Market Orders
If your preset order is a market order, your condition is only monitored and can only be triggered during Regular Trading Hours (RTH). For market orders, "Fill outside RTH" is always OFF by default.
Tip: Choose your "Fill outside RTH" setting based on when you want your conditional order to be monitored and potentially triggered.
