How is Net Funding Amount Calculated?
1. What is Net Funding Amount?
Net Funding Amount measures the total net value of new cash and assets added to your Sahm account over a specific period, reflecting your overall inflow after accounting for all withdrawals and transfers out. Your Net Funding balance is used to determine your eligibility for certain promotional rewards.
2. Calculation Formula
Net Funding Amount = Cash Inflows (Cash Deposits + Securities Transfers In) − Cash Outflows (Cash Withdrawals + Cash Coupon Withdrawals + Securities Transfers Out). It is calculated based on a cumulative basis during a specific period.
Example 1:
Suppose you participate in a 30-day promotional campaign and perform the following transactions:
Day 1: Deposit SAR 5,000 via bank transfer.
Day 10: Make trades that generate SAR 500 in profit (excluded).
Day 15: Withdraw SAR 1,500 to your bank account.
Day 20: Transfer SAR 2,000 worth of stock into your account.
Then your Net Funding Amount = (SAR 5,000 + SAR 2,000) - SAR 1,500 = SAR 5,500
Example 2:
Suppose you participate in a 10-day promotional campaign and perform the following transactions:
Day 1: Deposit SAR 3,000 in cash from your bank.
Day 5: Redeem a SAR 50 cash coupon and withdraw it to your bank account.
Day 10: Withdraw SAR 1,000 to your bank account.
Then your Net Funding Amount = SAR 3,000 - SAR 50 - SAR 1,000 = SAR 1,950
💡 Takeaway: Withdrawing funds obtained from a cash coupon is treated like any other withdrawal, resulting in a Net Funding Amount of SAR 1,950
