Abu Dhabi, The UAE Arabic United Arab Emirates - The Zayed Foundation for Education has announced the opening of applications for the "Zayed Pioneers" program, which represents its most prominent initiative to support and empower elite Emirati and Arab students residing in the UAE.
In its first year, the program will offer 50 full scholarships, coupled with specialized leadership development tracks, to provide highly qualified students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively serve their communities and enable them to deal with complex global challenges.
Program participants enjoy an academic experience of international standards, implemented in partnership with leading universities in the UAE, and integrated with career guidance programs, applied research opportunities, and an integrated curriculum for developing leadership skills.
The Zayed Pioneers program is implemented in partnership with a number of leading national academic institutions in the United Arab Emirates, including Abu Dhabi University, the American University of Sharjah, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi-Abu Dhabi, Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, New York University Abu Dhabi, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates University, University of Sharjah, and Zayed University.
The application period for the program is open to students until May 29, 2026, provided that the application timelines are in line with the admission cycles approved by each academic institution.
In its first year, the program will offer full scholarships to graduate (Master's) students, with future plans to expand to include Bachelor's and PhD students in upcoming sessions.
In this context, Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Education , stated: “Every generation faces its own set of challenges, but today’s youth are dealing with rapid changes and a wide range of unprecedented transformations.”
Her Highness added: “We designed the ‘Zayed Pioneers’ program to help young people build a solid foundation and a clear vision to confidently lead the future, based on pride in their identity, their close connection to their communities, and their readiness to contribute to building a more stable and prosperous future for all.”
The program draws its vision from the values and legacy of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, adopting a leadership approach that balances tradition and progress, and establishes the principles of public service and collective responsibility.
The “Zayed Leaders” program is a key pillar of the Foundation’s mission to empower 100,000 young leaders by 2035 and build a global network of qualified talent to address pressing challenges, including climate change, economic inequality, and technological transformations.
