Dammam, Saudi Arabia : OHL Arabia , the Saudi arm of the global OHLA Group specializing in infrastructure projects, and Hassan Allam Construction - Saudi Arabia Limited, a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Holding Group, have won a contract from Saudi Railways (SAR) to carry out the construction work for the railway line project linking the Second Industrial City in Dammam, one of the strategic projects within the transport system in the Eastern Province bordering the Arabian Gulf.

As a joint venture, OHL Arabia and Hassan Allam Construction – Saudi Arabia Ltd. will undertake the full scope of civil and railway works for the project, including the construction of a 22.7-kilometer single-track railway line, supported by extensive civil foundation works, earthworks, and track infrastructure. The project also includes key structural elements, most notably a 265-meter bridge over the HW615 highway and a 118-meter bridge over the Aramco pipeline corridor. The scope of work also includes the installation of signaling and communication systems, along with all necessary works for the Saudi Electricity Company to ensure the complete integration of the new line into the wider transmission network .

This project represents a pivotal step in the accelerated expansion of the railway network in the Kingdom, and supports national efforts aimed at enhancing freight movement, integrating industrial sectors, and raising the efficiency of logistics services, in line with the Kingdom’s long-term vision objectives in the fields of transport and infrastructure .

The project to connect the Second Industrial City in Dammam represents a significant addition to Hassan Allam Group’s growing portfolio in the transportation sector and infrastructure projects related to mobility in the region.
